Account Management & Settings

Bookcicle provides a comprehensive account management portal where you can update your profile, manage billing, enhance security, monitor usage, and more. This guide walks you through the main features and workflows available in your account settings.

Account Onboarding & Setup​

When you first create a Bookcicle account, you'll be guided through a step-by-step onboarding process:

  1. Create Account: Sign up with your email and set a password (minimum 8 characters).
  2. Configure Security: Set up security features such as Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) and Passkeys for enhanced protection.
  3. Pick a Plan: Choose the subscription plan that fits your needs.
  4. All Set: Access helpful resources and start using Bookcicle!

During onboarding, if you have items in your cart, a floating "Continue to Checkout" button will appear for quick access to payment.

After onboarding, you can access your account settings at any time. The settings portal is organized into the following sections, accessible via a sidebar:

  • Account Details: View and update your profile information, check your license status, and find quick links to related features.
  • Billing: Manage your payment methods, view your current plan, and access invoice history.
  • Security: Change your password, enable/disable 2FA, manage Passkeys (WebAuthn), and review recent logins.
  • Usage: Monitor your AI usage and costs by model.
  • Limits: Set monthly spend limits to control your usage.

You can switch between these sections using the sidebar menu. The selected section is also reflected in the URL hash ( e.g., #security).

Profile & License Status​

In the Account Details section, you can:

  • View your email, name, and user ID.
  • See when you joined Bookcicle.
  • Check your license/subscription status:
    • If you are a premium user, see your membership level, next payment date, and subscription status.
    • If not, you'll see an option to upgrade and learn more about premium features.
  • Access quick links to Billing, Usage, Usage Limits, and Pricing.

Security Settings​

Bookcicle offers robust security options:

Change Password​

  • Update your password at any time (minimum 8 characters).

Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)​

  • Enable 2FA: Protect your account by requiring a 6-digit code from an authenticator app when logging in.
  • Disable 2FA: Enter a valid code to remove 2FA protection.

Passkeys (WebAuthn)​

  • Register Passkey: Add a passkey for passwordless, secure login bound to your device.
  • Remove Passkey: Remove any registered passkeys.
  • You can have multiple passkeys registered for convenience.

Recent Logins​

  • Review the last three login attempts, including date/time, location, IP, origin, and provider.

Billing & Usage​

  • Billing: Update your payment methods, view your plan, and download invoices.
  • Usage: Track your AI usage and costs by model.
  • Limits: Set monthly spend limits to help control your costs.

Deleting Your Account​

If you wish to permanently delete your account:

  1. Go to Account Details and scroll to the "Delete account" section.
  2. Click Yes, delete my account.
  3. In the confirmation dialog, type DELETE ACCOUNT (all caps) to confirm.
  4. Your deletion request will be sent to our support team. You will receive a response within 48 hours.
caution

Deleting your account is irreversible. All your data will be permanently removed.

Tips​

  • Use 2FA and Passkeys for maximum account security.
  • Set spend limits to avoid unexpected charges.
  • You can always return to your projects from the sticky link at the bottom left of the account portal.
